Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Alex Sarabia serves as a communications and policy advisor to Mayor Ron Nirenberg. In this role, he writes speeches and social media posts, and also works on policy issues such as education, health, civic engagement and international relations. He aspires to promote more inclusive economic development and elevate the educational attainment of the San Antonio community. Sarabia started his career in public service in the office of former mayor and HUD Secretary Julián Castro, and was a congressional intern for U.S. Representative Joaquin Castro (TX-20). He is former Public Policy Fellow with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington D.C. and was a Fulbright Scholar in Mexico City. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Boston College and Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago Harris School.
