U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley to address Millennial leaders at NLC National Leadership Retreat

U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon will join NLC leaders in Pittsburgh to discuss the power that a new generation of community leaders has to reshape America

New Leaders Council (NLC) announced that U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) will address the annual NLC National Leadership Retreat hosted in Pittsburgh, PA.

“NLC is honored to welcome Senator Merkley to the NLC national leadership retreat,” said NLC President Mark Riddle. “Senator Merkley is a tireless advocate for progressive values. He has helped lead the fight to combat climate change and protect access to affordable healthcare. NLC’s community is excited to hear his thoughts on the power that a new generation of community leaders has to reshape an America that is stronger, more prosperous, and more just.”

U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley is Oregon’s junior senator. He fights to create living-wage jobs, push back on unfair trade policies, and has worked to make college more affordable. Earlier this year, Senator Merkley held the senate floor for more than 15 hours in protest of the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

The annual NLC National Leadership Retreat brings together hundreds of progressive young professionals from communities across the nation. These leaders will gather in Pittsburgh to chart a course for the future of NLC and the progressive movement.

The NLC National Leadership Retreat will be held on July 20-22nd, 2017. Tickets and registration are available here
