Julius Readus (Detroit ’15) named to the Men of Excellence Class of 2017

Candi Castelberry Singleton (Pittsburgh Faculty) and Aerion Abney (Pittsburgh ’15) launched the first USSIE Games to bridge gaps between the Pittsburgh communities and police.

NLC National Leadership Retreat

  • Please join New Leaders Council for its annual National Leadership Retreat in Pittsburgh, PA. NLC chapter leadership, alumni and members of the progressive community will meet in Pittsburgh this summer, July 20-22nd to unite, act, and rise. Attendees will be a play a crucial role in charting NLC's course for the future. The annual retreat in Pittsburgh will unite the NLC community around a shared vision for our future, inspire us to act, and rise to meet the obstacles as we work to build a more progressive America. 
NLC Millennial Compact National Conversation

  • Please join NLC for the NLC Millennial Compact National Conversation presented with NewDEAL Leaders. Millennial leaders, elected officials, and thought leaders will convene to discuss the innovative issues in the NLC Millennial Compact written by and for millennial leaders. Attendees will hear from keynotes speakers, network with rising star elected officials and NLC's network of millennial leaders. An agenda of the days' events will be available soon.

The Brookings Institution: Manufacturing under the Trump administration

  • July 13; 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EST; Washington, D.C.
  • On July 13, Brookings will host a half-day conference to discuss the future of manufacturing policy under the Trump administration. Experts will discuss the administration’s activities and proposals for this sector of the economy. Will the president’s plans for American industry be too big to fulfill? How will U.S. policy impact and react to changes in the international market? And ultimately, what will it mean for the American economy and its workers? This conference marks the sixth annual John Hazen White Forum on Public Policy, which convenes leaders from academia, business, and government to discuss and identify solutions to the United States’ most pressing challenges.
