The New Leaders Council (NLC) community is more than a “network” of talented, civically engaged progressive professionals spanning over 25 states and almost every industry. NLC is a family.

Members of the NLC family are champions of progressive values and dedicated to improving their communities. After the NLC Institute, NLC Fellows continue their quest for pragmatic solutions to our equity problem, and one need not look much further than Kylie Patterson, NLC New Jersey 2015 Fellow, who is leading the conversation on solutions to decrease income and wealth disparity. Kylie is a vital member of the NLC family, serving on the NLC Women’s Caucus and has years of service dedicated to promoting access and opportunity for those in need and elevating women.

Or take a look at NLC Tampa Bay 2015 Fellow Cesar Hernandez, who speaks boldly on responsible immigration policy and has a proven record to fight so that everyone to has a chance at the American dream.

Or consider NLC Maryland 2016 Fellow Keith Nolan, a member of the deaf community who finished at the top 20% of his ROTC class in college. Keith challenged the notion that Americans with certain disabilities are not fit to serve our country and was able to convince Congress that this is not the case.

Being a part of the NLC family is an opportunity available only to those with the passion and dedication to progressive values. The first step to being a part, apply to the NLC Institute. NLC is currently seeking applications for the 2017 Institute. Applications are due on November 14, and the Institute will begin in January.
