Tell the Senate: Block Jeff Sessions as AG
Donald Trump has surrounded himself with advisors who have a history of racist, xenophobic, misogynistic and nationalist behavior.
Unfortunately, we witnessed that yet again today with the announcement that Jeff Sessions will be appointed the next Attorney General.
When Sessions was nominated for a federal judgeship, his nomination was blocked by the Republican-controlled Senate because of racially charged comments and actions - like calling the NAACP, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and other civil rights groups “un-American” and “Communist-inspired.” He also thinks the Voting Rights Act - the pride of the Civil Rights movement - is just a "piece of intrusive legislation."
An Attorney General should fight to protect all Americans and their civil rights, not condemn the work of organizations like the NAACP. Instead, Donald Trump's pick for AG has a record of attacking them.
