A Los Angeles native, I grew up with a strong sense of civic duty, social progressivism and economic morality. I studied government and electoral campaign mechanics at the University of Redlands in Southern California. After managing a few field campaigns in local and state office, I joined the staff of a labor union dedicated to a publicly funded in-home healthcare providing workforce. In this position I lead the political program of the union and gained experience in fundraising, organizing, lobbying, and more field campaign experience. I earned a law degree after moving to Sacramento and spent a year with a political law firm before taking time to study for the bar and interning in the Capitol.

Annie Chou is a scientist by education, political and non-profit organizer by trade, and a San Franciscan at heart. A Renaissance Woman, she studied Biology and Geology, receiving a Bachelor of Science in the former, all on a music scholarship and while participating in service and political clubs.
