NLC News Alert: Chris Kelly Named Incoming NLC Chairman
Announcing Chris Kelly, Incoming NLC Chairman
As a member of our New Leaders Council family, I wanted you to be among the first to know about an exciting and bittersweet change in our organization. Our longtime Chairman Mark Walsh is stepping down as Chairman due to some new and exciting business opportunities and NLC has proudly named Silicon Valley attorney Chris Kelly to be our next Chairman.
Chairman Walsh’s contribution to the success of NLC is immeasurable. Under his leadership, our organization has grown and flourished, becoming the premiere leadership training program for young entrepreneurs. In short, Mark has been instrumental in turning NLC’s mission into a reality. We are forever grateful for his service and also glad that he will remain on the NLC Board of Directors to continue lending his mentorship.
No one is more capable of assuming the navigation of NLC than our incoming Chairman Chris Kelly, who has been very supportive in helping us build this organization. As the first Chief Privacy Officer, General Counsel, and Head of Global Public Policy for Facebook, Chris helped the company become what it is today. A former Democratic candidate for Attorney General of California, has also served as a policy advisor to President Clinton and has worked extensively toward policies that make the internet a safer place for children and adults alike. Chris is a highly-successful entrepreneur who believes we need leadership that understands modern challenges. These are just some of the many reasons I feel confident he is the perfect person to lead New Leaders Council as we look toward the future.
During this changing of the guard for NLC, I hope you will all help me in making our gratitude known to both our outgoing Chairman, Mark Walsh, and our incoming Chairman, Chris Kelly. With the addition of five new chapters already approved and more in the pipeline, our expanding network of Fellows and supporters and the benefit of strong momentum on our side, NLC stands poised to see exponential growth of our influence on the landscape of politics, business and industry.
I am excited for the possibilities and I once again thank these two leaders for their contributions and thank you for your continued efforts.
