Every movement in our nation’s history faced setbacks. Yesterday, the progressive movement was dealt a blow, yet even in the worst of times we’ve come together to find the strength to move forward.
We are immensely proud of the NLC leaders who poured their hearts into elections across the country, as candidates, as workers, as volunteers, and as voters. Your work is not over. Our mission is before us, and, our vision of what can be is as real as ever.
I have been flooded with calls, e-mails, and texts from our NLC community. Each had a common call to action: we must not lay down the torch. Leadership is forged in the furnace of adversity, we must lead the way to the country we all deserve.
It will not be easy, but I know we are up to the task.
If you are ready to continue our fight for progressive values, apply today to be an NLC Fellow.
If you are in a conservative state, nominate someone to join our community to continue building a progressive movement.
If you want to craft a progressive agenda for our country, stand with us.
Many of our friends and family are scared and uncertain about the future. We do not accept that fear is our inevitable future; we determine to stoke the fire of progress, now and tomorrow.
New Leaders Council was not built for an election or specific issue. It is built for us, by us. It’s for our community, for our future, and for the United States. We stand together and continue our fight for a progressive and inclusive America.
