NLC answered the call in February
What a month! New Leaders Council and its chapters are always living the call for progressive leadership across the country, but this month was unique. February has been a banner month for NLC, and we will continue to build on the momentum. Here's what NLC was up to this month:
NLC national co-chair Michael Blake elected Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee
NLC national co-chair Michael Blake is the newest Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee! Over the past three months, Michael has worked tirelessly to share his vision for the future of the DNC and has had a significant focus on rebuilding a progressive bench. Throughout his campaign, Michael shared NLC’s story as a successful model to build a strong, progressive pipeline. Congratulations, Michael!
NLC Institutes focus on communication & digital strategy
Hundreds of NLC Fellows across the country received training this month in communication strategies. Guided by our outstanding communication and digital faculty, Fellows were trained in public speaking, crisis management, on-camera media training, digital organizing strategies, and more. NLC's communications curriculum provides Fellows the skills to champion the progressive message and advocate for our values in their communities.
NLC Florida chapters host #CapitolDays
We’re so proud of the members of the Florida NLC community who came together with Florida legislators in Tallahassee for Capitol Days! Capitol Days brought NLC alumni and fellows together with Florida legislators for a reception and educational sessions on issues that matter most to citizens. The NLC Capitol Days agenda was packed with one-on-one discussions with elected leaders, panel discussions on innovation and how to make a local impact, and more.
Special thanks to the elected officials and supporters who joined NLC’s Florida chapters at Capitol Days!
