The New Leaders Council is working hard to expand its political entrepreneurship training institute around the country. We’ll be taking our team to Denver this August, where we’ll be celebrating the accomplishments of the next generation of progressive leaders through the 40 under 40 Awards.

Whether you’ve booked your flight or not, you can be a part of our celebration by nominating a role model, friend, or coworker to receive one of the First Annual NLC Political Entrepreneur Awards.

Just fill out the form below to submit a nomination – winners will be rewarded at our event. Nominees should be members of our generation who have displayed extraordinary ability to create progressive change in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner. Submission form and award guidelines follow:

Below are a sampling of the NLC 40 under 40 Awards. More award categories to follow.

Renewable Energy Independence Award
This Award recognizes the tireless efforts of an advocate who has fought hard to push the issue of renewable energy independence to the top of the national discussion, thus increasing the capacity of progressive ideals in this area of immense concern.

Environmental Protection Award
This Award recognizes the innovative efforts of a person who has identified an area of environmental need in a distressed locale, has taken affirmative steps to fill that void, and in doing so has increased the progressive capacity in his/her community.

Immigration Rights/Latino Issues Award
This award recognizes the industrious advocacy of a person who has endeavored to expand progressive ideals by promoting fairness toward individuals who wish to gain entry into our country, and protecting the rights of individuals who have successfully entered into our communities.

Education Award
This Award recognizes a person who has placed great emphasis on the necessity of education, and taken creative and innovative measures to ensure a bright future for many of our young people.

Health Care Award
This Award recognizes the efforts of a person who has used innovative techniques in an endeavor to provide suffering individuals with the medicine and therapy needed to live healthily and happily.

National Security Award
This award recognizes the advocate who been a pioneer in securing the safety of all Americans, and in doing so has increased the capacity of progressive ideals as we continue to fight terrorism in all of its forms.

Women’s Issues Award
This award recognizes the advocacy of a person who has shown exceptional courage and leadership in supporting women’s rights and advancement, and in doing so has increased the capacity of progressive ideals.

Support of the Gay and lesbian Community Award
This Award recognizes the advocacy for the equal rights of the gay, lesbian, and transgendered community.

Working Family Leader Award
This Award recognizes the staunch advocacy of a person who has led efforts to promote organized labor within our industries and continue its existence as the bedrock of our democratic society.

Voice For The Voiceless Award
This Award recognizes an advocate who has worked tirelessly to serve our underrepresented populations in a variety of issue areas
