5 updates from NLC to kick off your weekend

New Leaders Council is building our path forward. Throughout April, NLC hosted dozens of Institutes across the country training Fellows in political management and fundraising. We announced Pittsburgh as the host of the 2017 National Leadership Retreat, received a special message from Senator Tim Kaine, and more. 

Check out these 5 updates from the NLC community before kicking off your weekend! 

1) Institute Applications Open MONDAY!

Applications for the 2018 NLC Institute open on Monday! The Institute is the leading professional and leadership development program for progressive Millennials across the country.  The NLC Institute experience gives Fellows a wide-range of skills to run for public office, start a non-profit, launch a business, and more.


2) Register for the 2017 National Leadership Retreat

NLC chapter leadership, alumni and members of the progressive community will meet in Pittsburgh this summer, July 20-22nd to unite, rise, and act. Attendees will be a play a crucial role in charting NLC's course for the future.


The annual retreat will unite the NLC community around a shared vision for our future, inspire us to act, and rise to meet the obstacles as we work to build a more progressive America.

3) Senator Tim Kaine: “It’s up to you and organizations like NLC to lead.”

NLC National Honorary Co-Chair U.S. Senator Tim Kaine encourages the NLC community to come together, rebuild, resist and develop a passionate story to move forward. 



4) NLC President Mark Riddle: Cancel the Circular Firing Squad

NLC President Mark Riddle’s recent op-ed was featured in USNews & World Report. It outlines the necessity for progressive to make significant investments in pipeline building efforts to counter the decades-long investment from conservatives. It also features a 4-point plan to rebuild the progressive movement.
