5 things you shouldn't miss from NLC
New Leaders Council is forging its path forward. In just the past few weeks, NLC has launched four new chapters, is gearing up for its annual national leadership retreat, and has added new members to the national team!
NLC Chapters across the nation are hosting NLC Institutes nearly every weekend this month, and while most Fellows are focused on management training, our chapters in Columbus, Dallas, Oklahoma and Portland are kicking off their inaugural NLC Institutes. These new chapters are participating in Life Entrepreneurship and founding board member trainings! As always, we’re especially grateful to the volunteer leaders and trainers who make the NLC Institute possible.
With these newest chapters, NLC will train more than 900 progressive leaders to make change in their communities in 2018.

United States Senator Sheldon Whitehouse joined NLC Rhode Island for a wide-ranging conversation on the future of the progressive movement, public policy, and how millennials may make the most impact in their communities. Throughout the discussion, NLC leaders were able to engage in thoughtful dialogue on solutions to the obstacles faced by the progressive movement. NLC appreciates Senator Whitehouse meeting with our NLC Rhode Island leaders. Thank you, Senator!

Assemblymember Michael Blake gave a passionate speech from the New York State Assembly floor in support of Raise the Age. Assemblymember Blake has fought tirelessly to raise the age in New York, and after the vote this weekend, it is here.
